Environmental activists blocked two oil tankers off the coast of Denmark on Thursday to transport 100,000 tons of Russian oil, in an attempt to stop the financing of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The Seaoath had arrived from Russia with 100,000 tons of Urals crude oil and was trying to transfer the oil to a larger tanker, the Pertamina Prime. Trader Trafigura confirmed that they had chartered the Seaoath.
Activists in kayaks and inflatable boats stood between the Seaoath and Pertamina Prime oil tankers near Frederikshavn, Denmark, preventing the oil from being transferred from one ship to the other. They called for a complete boycott of the Russian oil fleet, which they say is fueling wars and destroying the planet.
