Greenpeace Ukraine and international branches of the organization are calling on the EU and the UK to impose tough restrictions on shadow fleet tankers, as was done in the latest mini-package of sanctions adopted on June 15.
The activists emphasize the negative impact that Russian oil tankers have on the environment and on the financing of Russia’s military operations against Ukraine, and add that a significant part of the shadow fleet vessels continues to remain unsanctioned.
