In Tuapse, authorities decided not to cancel the holiday season, despite «oil rains» and fuel oil into the sea

The authorities of Tuapse will not refuse to accept tourists, despite the ongoing liquidation of the consequences of a series of fires at the sea terminal. «Of course, there will be a [resort] season,» said the head of the city, Sergey Boyko.

According to him, the length of the coastline in Tuapse is 90 km, and «what happened on one beach will not affect the other.» «And we will put this beach in order by June 1, and people who come to our city will be able to use it,» Boiko assured.

He also said that the authorities are monitoring the impact of emissions of combustion products and «oil rain» on the health of residents. According to him, there is no «abnormal surge» of mourning and «over-turned» in the ambulance and hospital. Boyko accused «Western television companies and bloggers» of spreading false information about the situation in the city.

For the last time, Ukrainian drones struck the marine terminal in Tuapse on May 1, the day after the fire from the previous attack on April 28 was extinguished. Also, the object became the target of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on April 16 and 20. Both times the fires were extinguished for about four days. The city experienced «oil rains», concentrations of benzene, xylene and soot in the air exceeded the norm by several times. Smog reached Sochi, Anapa, Armavir and Stavropol.

In addition, damage to the reservoirs led to the leakage of oil products that entered the Black Sea. As of April 27, the spot stretched along the coast for 77 kilometers.
