President Vladimir Putin hasn’t commented for a week on the massive fire at the Tuapse oil terminal, which environmentalists have described as a «major environmental disaster.»
Ukrainian drones launched their first strike on Tuapse a week ago, on the night of April 16. Following the attack, a fire broke out on the refinery grounds, killing two local residents and injuring seven more, and a state of emergency was declared in the city. That same day, according to a report from his press service, the president discussed measures to support the «SVO» participants with Rashid Temrezov, head of Karachay-Cherkessia.
The next day, while firefighters continued to battle the blaze, Putin spoke with members of the Russian Security Council about mixed marriages among Russians and cultural cooperation with CIS countries.
On the morning of the 20th, Ukrainian Armed Forces drones again attacked the Tuapse oil refinery and hit oil tanks, causing a second major fire. Putin discussed increasing sugar beet and turkey production with Penza Governor Oleg Melnichenko, as well as the Penza airport reconstruction project.
